がんぎ【雁木】

1 〔ギザギザの形のもの〕 a zigzag (pattern [line]).

2 〔桟橋の段々〕 the steps of [down from] a pier.

3 〔防雪用のひさしの下の通路〕 a way free of snow beneath extended eaves on the street side of shoulder-to-shoulder shops and houses.
